There have been various vexing reports about the new Nova SE-IP modems locking up.  Symptoms are all the proper lights on including the online light but the modem is just hanging and no communication is taking place.  A reboot solves the issue only to have it revisit again in a few hours or days.

The good new is that engineering has rolled out a software fix for all modems on cluster 51 that seems to have solved the issue.  They are going to monitor the results of the fix on cluster 51 before rolling it out to cluster 80 modems.
